A Hattiesburg man heading to Louisiana to see a “voodoo doctor” Monday crashed into an airport fence before fleeing into the woods, according to NOLA.com.

Kevin Bolton, 43, said he had been engaged in a police crash, but there was no police pursuit at the time of the crash, officials said.

There were, however, many reports of Bolton’s erratic driving in the area.

More from NOLA.com:

After crashing his Tahoe into the airport fence, Bolton ran into a nearby patch of woods, Slidell police said. He was later found in the Belair subdivision of Slidell, wearing nothing but his underwear. Bolton, believed to be under the influence of narcotics, reportedly explained to officers that he had to strip off his clothes “because snakes were crawling up his pants.”

Bolton was charged with hit-and-run driving and careless operation of a motor vehicle.
