The U.S. Geological Society measured a 3.7 magnitude quake approximately 5.5 miles northwest of Hollandale at approximately 4:30 p.m. Hollandale is in Washington County, just southeast of Greenville.

The quake was recorded at a depth of approximately 10 miles below the surface.
