Police say 22-year-old admitted to shooting pastor outside church

JACKSON β€” Police have arrested the man they believe shot and killed a pastor as he prepared to begin church services Sunday morning.

Jackson Police Chief James Davis told media outlets that Marquez Hamilton, 22, had confessed to the shooting that killed pastor Anthony Longino outside New Bethany Missionary Baptist Church. Davis said Hamilton said Longino was shot as he and three others planned to rob the 62-year-old pastor.
