Desoto County investigators say a Mississippi man shot and killed his brother, a Memphis TV station reported Tuesday night.

Marquis Townes was being detained at the DeSoto County Jail facing murder charges.

Family members told the TV station that victim Martez Townes was celebrating his being accepted into flight school. Some kind of fight between the brothers ensued and Marquis allegedly turned and shot Martez, DeSoto County Sheriff Bill Rasco told FOX 13.

Apparently the victim called 911 himself, but died shortly after he made the call.
