Fire has destroyed a grocery store in a small Mississippi town, months after the store rebuilt from a 2011 tornado.
Smithville Town Clerk Kim Clemons Johnson tells WCBI-TV that the Smithville Discount Variety and Grocery store burned Monday night.
The store had just re-opened last April after rebuilding from the tornado that left a wide swath of destruction and killed more than a dozen people in Smithville. The town in northeast Mississippi has about 1,000 residents.
Johnson says nobody was injured in the fire. It remains under investigation.
