All these things I have done, yet most people I know would call me an honorable man. I wouldn’t go that far. But I try to be a good man, and most of the time, I believe I succeed. How is this possible? These are complicated times.

And it’s not easy to be good.” – Greg Iles, “Cemetery Road”

There, you’ve now read the first full chapter of Mississippi best-selling author Greg Iles’ latest book “Cemetery Road,” scheduled for public release on March 5.

Iles, a Natchez resident, will host a special, pre-release sale and signing party in Natchez Saturday where books will be available for sale and he’ll be on hand to personally sign them.

The event is an annual charitable book sale for his hometown. This year’s event will benefit the Natchez Stewpot, a soup kitchen that feeds hundreds in the Natchez area each day, paid for all through charitable donations.

Iles’ book signing party will be from 1 to 4 p.m. at his office Edelweiss, 209 S. Broadway St., Natchez, on the Natchez bluff. Books are in limited supply, but can be reserved by calling 601-442-8443.

His official book tour will kick off March 5 at Lemuria Books in Jackson at 3:30 p.m. with signing and a reading and talk at 5:40 p.m.

The next day, Wednesday, March 6, he’ll be in Tupelo at Reed’s Gum Tree Bookstore at noon, before heading to Square Books in Oxford for an appearance at 5 p.m.
