Police investigators have arrested four people in what is believed to be a criminal ring using forged cashier’s checks to buy tractors, ATVs, trailers and other equipment across portions of Mississippi.

Investigators with the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Office are asking for the public’s help in gathering additional information in criminal enterprise.

A month-long investigation led to the arrest of four people.

Pearl River Sheriff’s Office Chief Investigator Marc Ogden said the arrested have been identified as; John Holquist, 43, of 916 Sweetgum Drive, Gulfport who was arrested on Feb. 25; Courtney Goff, 23, of 2020 Lawrence St., Biloxi who was arrested on Feb. 15; Darrius Lofton, of 226 Debuys Rd., Biloxi, 26, who was arrested on March 7 and Erick McCray, 28, of 918 East Railroad St., Gulfport, who was arrested on March 11.

All four suspects were arrested for felony false pretense for their alleged involvement in a string of counterfeit purchases made across Mississippi Gulf Coast, Mobile, Alabama and Vicksburg.

Investigators said they believe the group fraudulently purchased several utility vehicles, ATVs and a farm tractor.

Bond was set at $20,000 cash for all suspects arrested prior to Monday, by Justice Court Judge Donald Fail, Ogden said.
