A Mississippi man has died after he got into an argument over a dog attack and his neighbor shot him.

Jackson police say 38-year-old Richard Parker died Monday in a hospital sometime after the Saturday night shooting.

Police say Parker’s dog was injured after it attacked a neighbor. The unnamed neighbor tells police that Parker then assaulted him, leading to the shooting.

A man was questioned by police after the shooting. However, no arrests had been made as of Monday night.

Police say they continue to investigate.
