The Mississippi Department of Health gave its lowest ratings to eight food establishments that were inspected last week including two public school cafeterias — one of which was cited for having bugs or rodents present.

Health inspectors gave Ruleville Central School a C rating after finding the presence of insects and/or rodents present in the cafeteria’s kitchen.

North Jackson Elementary was cited after inspectors determined the kitchen did not have ample hot and cold water.

Inspectors also dinged the IP Casino Resort in Biloxi after inspectors said they found a food preparation area in the banquet kitchen that had not been sanitized. Inspectors pointed out that the issue was a repeat violation.

Donnie’s Deli in Horn Lake was cited for the presence of insects and/or rodents.
