A Mississippi financial planner has been charged with raping a woman in New Orleans. The man has been out on bail for more than two years on an allegation he raped another woman after meeting her on Tinder.

William A. McDonough was arrested Wednesday, charged with second-degree rape. He was released on $50,000 bond in the most recent case, The Advocate newspaper reported. McDonough’s website indicates he operates from Natchez, Mississippi, but police reports also suggest he has a condo in the Warehouse District of New Orleans were both alleged rapes were believed to have occurred.

The most recent claim emerged at the end of April when a woman told investigators that she tried to get McDonough to stop aggressively pursuing her sexually after a Mardi Gras Parade in late February.

McDonough’s accuser said he pinned her down and raped her. She said in the morning she had a black eye and said McDonough told her to tell people she’d be struck by a bag of Mardi Gras beads.

The New Orleans Police Department’s sex crimes investigator Claudia Bruce obtained the arrest warrant. The newspaper said Bruce did not explain why the arrest came more than two months after the alleged assault. The same investigator worked the previous rape investigation against McDonough.

In late 2016, McDonough was charged with raping a woman he’d met on the dating app Tinder. He was released on $30,000 bond in that case. That case is still pending.

In addition to the pending criminal charges, The Advocate reported the woman involved in the first case has filed a lawsuit in civil court seeking financial damages.
