Sons, parents among six charged in armed carjacking case

Pearl Police have arrested two brothers, their parents and another woman in connection to an armed carjacking that occurred last month.
At approximately 1 a.m. on April 30, police received a report from a man who said he vehicle was stolen from him at gunpoint.
The stolen vehicle was soon located by the Simpson County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators followed leads and identified Michael Tyson Chappell Jr., 21, of Pearl, and Angel Secrest, 19 of Brandon, as suspects in the carjacking.
Detectives arrested Chappell Jr.’s brother, Bailey Chappell, who connected Chappell Jr.’s parents Michael Chappell Sr. and Katherine Neese, to the investigation.
Bailey Chappell, 19, of Braxton, has been charged with harboring a fugitive, aiding and abetting.
The parents have been charged with hindering prosecution.
Chappell Sr. and Neese were arrested at their residence in Pearl.
Pearl police along with the U.S. Marshals located and arrested Chappell Jr. and Secrest at residence in Terry. Each has been charged with armed carjacking.
