A Mississippi man was sentenced to life in prison last week after he was found guilty of attempted kidnapping.

Louis Winston Scott was found guilty by a Lee County jury in circuit court for an incident that occurred in the early morning on Aug. 26, 2017.

Scott used flashing red and blue lights to trick a woman into stopping for him on a roadway. He then threatened the woman with a knife, but she was able to escape.

Scott is also charged in a separate case that allegedly occurred shortly after the first woman escaped. Police say Scott tricked another woman to pull over, this time in Union County. He’s charged with kidnapping her and raping her. He has no been tried on those charges yet.
