Police investigating homicide in Mississippi university town

An incident that left one person dead in the Brittany Woods area of Oxford on Sunday is now being investigated as a homicide, per the Oxford Police Department.
Around 2 p.m. the OPD responded to 1009 Suncrest Drive for an unresponsive person. When officers arrived to the scene they found one person at the location deceased.
The Mississippi Bureau of Investigations has been called in to assist and will oversee the investigation, which is active and still ongoing.
