The Mississippi assistant principal charged with statutory rape of a student left a trail of alleged problems in Alabama as well, sources with the Alabama schools said.

A former Wilcox (Alabama) Central High School Principal is charged for statutory rape in Mississippi.

According to Fourth Judicial District Attorney Michael Jackson, Holmes Central High School Assistant Principal Dyana Thomas is currently in jail with a $500,000 bond for statutory rape of a student.

LeFlore County Sheriff Ricky Blanks is investigating the case. Blanks said the case will be presented to a grand jury next month for indictment consideration.

While serving as principal at in Alabama during 2007, Thomas was found guilty of mail fraud in Greene County and fined $1,000 by the Alabama Ethics Commission five years later.

In 2014, he was convicted of criminal mischief and harassing communications as the principal at Greensboro High School in Hale County, Alabama. He pleaded guilty to those charges last August.

Jackson said Thomas could be returning to charges in Hale County.

“He has stolen more money than Jesse James,” Jackson said. “We have filed a motion to revoke his probation to put him in jail in Hale County.”
