Access to flooded Mississippi lake community guarded by deputies
Emergency officials in Warren County have placed guards a flooded lake community north of Vicksburg as the backwater flooding continues to rise.
Roads into the Eagle Lake community have been closed, Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace told local media Sunday and only property owners and those people who are coming to help property owners are allowed through.
Water was over roads into the area with levels expecting to continue to rise.
Many lake residents have evacuated, but some have chosen to stay put in hopes of riding out the flood. Pace said deputies and other emergency crews have helped several residents get out of their flooded homes.
