Two bail bondsmen attempting to serve a warrant were in critical condition Wednesday after they were ambushed, presumably by the person they were attempting to arrest.

Moss Point Police reported the two victims were shot multiple times while they were parked at Olivet Baptist Church.

The suspects jumped out of a blue, older model four-door sedan with chrome wheels, police reported, and began firing numerous rounds at the bondsmen’s car.

The suspects had fled before police arrived, having been called to the scene by reports of shots being heard in the vicinity.

Both victims were transported to University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson for surgery. On Wednesday both were still listed in critical condition.
