Two murder suspects escape county jail; one recaptured, another still on loose

Two murder suspects reportedly escaped the Holmes County Jail at approximately 2 a.m. Monday.

The inmates who escaped are Darren Clark from Jackson and Antony Fisher from Hinds County, Jackson media reported.

Sheriff’s deputies said the pair climbed through a ceiling and over a barbed-wire fence.

The pair were housed in the same cell.

Clark was recaptured at approximately 7 a.m., just five hours after he escaped.

Clark is charged with the capital murder of a Jackson minister who was killed in January.

Fisher is charged with the murder of a 75-year-old woman from Pickens.
