Man faces up to 60 years for allegedly sexually abusing children

A Mississippi man was arrested Monday and charged with sexually abusing two children, the Hinds County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Michael Hicks, 40, of Raymond was charged with four counts of gratification of lust for sexual relations he allegedly had with underage minors.

He faces a maximum of up to 60 years in prison.

“It is not a child’s fault that they end up in bad situations,” Hinds County Sheriff Victor Mason wrote in a social media post. “Though some of them may think they are mature enough to make adult decisions, it is our job to make sure that they don’t have to make those decisions. It is also our job to ensure that those who violate our children are brought to justice.”
