A 12-year-old Mississippi girl was shot and killed Monday while she and her brother were playing with a gun, a Memphis TV station reported late Tuesday.

Police are investigating the incident that happened Monday afternoon in Horn Lake, FOX-13 TV reported.

Police said the brother, who is also 12 years old, was shot in the hand in the incident. The girl was shot in the chest. She was reportedly taken to Baptist Desoto Hospital where she died.
