Forecasters say a tornado caused some damage in Hinds County — a somewhat uncommon storm for June in central Mississippi.

The National Weather Service says the EF-1 twister struck Monday near Raymond, Mississippi. No injuries were reported.

The weather service’s Jackson office says Monday’s tornado was only the 5th June twister to affect its forecast area in the past two decades.

Photos posted by WLBT-TV showed damage to a few houses, snapped trees and a swirl pattern in the grass.

Raymond is about 15 miles (24 kilometers) west of Jackson.
