Animal control officers are accustomed to having their emotions tugged, but a Mississippi animal officer wasn’t prepared for what she would find in responding to a call.

There on the side of the road was a discarded arm chair and sitting on top was an abandoned puppy, scared and waiting for its owner to return.

Fortunately Brookhaven Animal Control Officer Sharon Norton arrived just in time.

Norton posted her reaction on a social media post.

“To the person that dumped this chair, your puppy was waiting for you to come back, slowly starving to death because it was afraid to leave the chair to find food,” she wrote. “Shame on you for doing this to this puppy, but one day Karma will meet up with you.”

The puppy is being cared for and may eventually be up for adoption.
