Ole Miss police dispatcher charged with sexual abuse of minor, more charges likely, investigators say

A now-former University of Mississippi dispatcher was arrested on June 26 and charged with two counts of sexual battery.

Officers with the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to a residence on Wednesday, and began an investigation regarding allegations that Nikki Thweatt, 37 of Oxford, had been having an “inappropriate relationship” with a minor.

“After reviewing all the evidence an arrest was made, charging Nikki Thweatt with sexual battery two counts,” a release from the Sheriff’s Department read. “… The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department expects more charges as the investigation continues.”

According to the release, the victim is a 15 year old female.

Thweatt was taken to the Lafayette County Detention Center, and her bond was set at $80,000. She remains at the Lafayette County Detention Center at this time.
