The 3-year-old Natchez girl who was beaten last month along with her sister last month has been release from a Jackson hospital, Jackson media reported.
Lailah Hill was initially in critical condition after she and her older sister, 4-year-old Armani Hill, were severely beaten on June 5.
Armani Hill died from her injuries. The girls’ mother and the mother’s boyfriend were arrested and charged in the case.
Their mother, LaKeisha Jones, told investigators she had left the children in the care of her boyfriend, James Christopher Anderson.
Police say Anderson beat the two girls severely and forced them to walk approximately one-quarter mile after the beating. One of the girls reportedly kept falling due to the severity of her injuries.
Investigators at the time of the arrest said it was the most brutal child abuse they had ever witnessed.
The cases against Jones and Anderson will be presented soon to an Adams County Grand Jury.
Lailah Hill and her older brother, who was apparently not injured in the case, are in the care of a foster family, WLBT-TV reported.
