Mississippi is temporarily suspending the medical license of an OB-GYN amid several complaints about him, including that he had an affair with one of his married employees and tried to insert abortion-inducing drugs into her while she was pregnant with his child.

The baby was later born.

The Mississippi Board of Medical Licensure on Wednesday temporarily suspended Dr. Walter Ray Wolfe’s license, saying that allowing him to keep practicing medicine is an “immediate danger to the public.”

The Clarion Ledger reports that Wolfe is asking a judge to block the suspension.

Wolfe’s attorney says in court papers Thursday that Wolfe has practiced medicine more than 30 years without reprimand and many of the allegations against him are “preposterous.”

Wolfe lives and practices medicine in Madison County, just north of Jackson.
