As Tropical Storm Barry grows and organizes in the Gulf of Mexico, forecasters are trying to figure out exactly where he’ll come ashore, but one thing appears certain — Mississippi is about to get soaked.
Once Barry makes landfall, forecasters expect he’ll move northeast, bringing significant amounts of rain across the majority of Mississippi.
Weather forecasters predict Tropical Storm Barry will make landfall late Friday or early Saturday somewhere along the Louisiana coast, likely either as a strong tropical storm or a weak hurricane.
The majority of the state is expected to receive between 3 inches and perhaps as much as 15 inches of rain over the next three days.
That’s going to make for a very wet weekend for many parts of the Magnolia State.
