A Mississippi teenager who was pulled from a swimming pool, resuscitated and hospitalized for nearly a week has died.

WTVA-TV reports that Zemerrio Jones, 18, died Sunday at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.

Jones was pulled from the swimming pool at a Starkville apartment complex on Monday, July 8, after he was found submerged in the pool.

He was resuscitated by emergency personnel and airlifted to UMMC where he was last listed in critical condition.

An autopsy will be performed, the TV station reported.
