Police: Teen found dead in street was shot by homeowner during home invasion
Police say a 14-year-old whose body was found shot dead in a Southaven neighborhood last week may have been shot by a homeowner during an attempted home invasion.
The body of Christopher Cooper, 14, was found in the middle of an intersection, dead from a suspected gunshot wound.
Police arrested three people last week and charged them in connection to the death.
Joshua Fletcher, Justin Williams and Ashley Lutts were arrested. Police believe the trio along with Cooper were involved in a home invasion on Tuscany Way in Southaven, when the homeowner discovered them and opened fire, striking Cooper.
Fletcher and Williams have been charged with burglary/home invasion and capital murder. Lutts was charged with conspiracy to commit a crime.
