A Mississippi teenager was shot and killed Saturday night at a birthday party when the shooter reportedly shot into a crowd gathered for a birthday party, state and local media report.

The 16-year-old victim, Arykah Patrice White, was pronounced dead at the scene, the Commercial Dispatch reported.

Apparently White and others were gathered for a birthday party at Propst Park. She was apparently standing outside a building at the park when the shots rang out.
