One of the four people Brookhaven police believe broken into a woman’s house and killed her when she returned home was caught at the Jackson Evers International Airport Monday, capital media reported.
Adrian Smith was arrested just before noon, WLBT-TV reported.
Smith is one of four who police say were captured on a home surveillance system breaking into the house of a Brookhaven woman Saturday night.
The woman was found dead a short time later and police identified four suspects, including Smith, from the surveillance camera footage.
Smith is the second of the four suspects to be arrested. Police arrested Jatavious Berry on Sunday.
Shawan Allen and Justin Anderson remain at large.
Police believe Allen made his girlfriend drive him to Jackson before they were spotted driving erratically by an officer. Police say Allen then jumped out and fled, going to a house and trying to force the owner to give him keys to their car. When that failed, police say, Allen stole a county truck near Crystal Springs.
The whereabouts of Anderson, who is from Natchez, remain unknown. Earlier this year, Anderson was acquitted of murder. He was accused of shooting in a nightclub and killing a man. His defense argued that multiple people were shooting in the nightclub and no one could definitively say that Anderson shot the victim.
