Law enforcement officers uncovered Tuesday what they described as a large counterfeiting operation being run out of a Mississippi hotel room.

DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office deputies responding to reports of suspicious activity at the Days Inn in Hernando located several people working from a hotel room that was part of a counterfeiting operation, the DeSoto Times-Tribune newspaper reported.

The people inside the hotel room were taken into custody, some of whom had outstanding arrest warrants from other states.

The sheriff’s office said local, state and federal authorities are working together to investigate the matter across multiple jurisdictions.
