Mississippi pharmacist, nurse practitioner arrested by narcotics agents

Mississippi narcotics officers arrested a pharmacist and a nurse practitioner Tuesday after separate investigtions.

Pharmacist Jerry Vaughn, 33, of Hernando is charged with embezzlement of a controlled substance. Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics agents said the embezzlement involved approximately 250 doses of suboxone. Vaughn surrendered to agents at the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office.

Nurse practitioner Shannon Mott, 44, of Collinsville, is charged with two counts of fraudulently obtaining prescription drugs. She was arrested at her residence after agents executed a search warrant. Agents reported they found zoldpidem (Ambien), pseudoephedrine and evidence they believed showed she had unlawfully obtained hydrocodone/acetaminophen.
