A Mississippi sheriff’s deputy was charged with DUI last weekend after he was involved in an auto accident a Jackson TV station reported Thursday.

Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office deputy Jerland Curry was driving in his personal vehicle when he was involved in the wreck and arrested by a Mississippi Highway Patrol trooper, WLBT-TV reported.

Claiborne County Sheriff Frank Davis said Curry had been suspended without pay after his arrest.
