In the wake of two deadly, mass shootings over the weekend, American flags will be lowered across parts of the U.S. including Mississippi through Thursday.
President Trump issued the order Sunday that flags at The White House would be lowered to honor the victims of shootings in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio.
Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant echoed Trump’s order and other states are expected to follow as well.
In El Paso a gunman opened fire early Saturday at a Walmart shopping center, killing 20 people and injuring dozens more.
In Dayton, just hours after the Texas shooting, a gunman opened fire in a popular nighttime entertainment district. He killed nine people and wounded more than two dozen before police killed the gunman.
