Race for GOP nomination for governor still close

With one-third of the Mississippi votes counted, the Republican primary for Mississippi governor remained tight.

At 9:30 p.m. with approximately 33 percent of the 1,768 precincts counted, Tate Reeves was in the lead with 46 percent of the vote.

Bill Waller was in second place with 33 percent of the vote, and Robert Foster had 21 percent of the vote.

If no candidate has a majority, the two top vote getters will face one another in a runoff on Aug. 27.
