Mississippi police investigators say they’re investigating the death of a child who was left inside a car on Friday.

Booneville Police Chief Michael Ramey said Monday that officers received a call at approximately 5 p.m. on Friday. Officers responded to the parking lot of a daycare for a call of a child locked in a car.

When officers arrived they determined the 21-month-old boy was deceased and that daycare was not involved in what led to the child’s death.
