Mississippi police are investigating after a high school student was found in possession of a concealed handgun Wednesday morning on the school’s campus.

Corinth police responded to Corinth High School after school administrators learned that a student might have a weapon, detained the 15-year-old student and called police. When the student was searched a handgun was found.

Local media reported that the unnamed student will be charged in youth court for carrying the weapon onto a school campus as well as other possible charges.

Apparently no one was threatened by the student, the police reported.
