A Mississippi high school teacher was apparently removed from the district’s employment after reports surfaced that an explicit video was shared from the teacher’s phone, “inadvertently and unknowingly.”
The DeSoto Times-Tribune newspaper reported that the DeSoto County School District said in a single-sentence statement Thursday, “The person is no longer an employee of the school district.”
WREG-TV in Memphis reported that students at Horn Lake High School said the video and discussions about it had circulated in the school district for the last week.
The TV station reported the video was sexually explicit and several minutes in length.
Horn Lake Police told area media that they took a report about the video, but that the matter was being investigated by the school district. Police said they would investigate if the school district believes a crime occurred.
The identity of the teacher has not been revealed because she’s not charged with a crime.
