Child abuse suspect indicted, arrested

A Mississippi man has been arrested after his indictment for felony child abuse, Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said Friday evening.

Pace said Raymond H. Friley, 49, of Vicksburg, was arrested Friday afternoon at his home on a warrant issued by the Warren County grand jury, which finished meeting Thursday. Deputies also served Friley with a search warrant to search his home.

Friley is being held without bail in the Warren County Jail pending an arraignment in Circuit Court sometime next week.

The indictment was the result of a probe by sheriff’s investigators into a complaint filed against Friley in June. Pace said the investigation indicated the reported abuse happened in 2017 and involved a child under the age of 2.

He declined to discuss further information involving the arrest citing the ongoing investigation.
