A 5-year-old girl died Monday after she apparently drown in a small pond near her Mississippi home.

Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant told WCBI-TV that the victim was Annabelle Bush, 5, of the New Hope community near Columbus.

The owners of the pond discovered the little girl, and she was transported to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Police said more information will be released later.
