Two Mississippi animal shelters are seeking donations as they work to handle more than 100 small dogs rescued this week after they were found in deplorable conditions.

The Copiah Animal Shelter reported more 100 Shihtzu dogs were found in poor conditions and were rescued in the city of Crystal Springs. The shelter along with the Mississippi Animal Rescue League (MARL) are working to care for the animals.

“The dogs are currently getting medical attention, as well as grooming and nutritional care,” the group wrote in a Facebook post. “Once the legal process is complete, they will be available for adoption.”
