Two Mississippi sheriff’s deputies shot in altercation with armed man; conditions of deputies unknown

Jackson media reported two Madison County Sheriff’s Office deputies were shot, along with the suspected shooter, Thursday morning.
The Clarion Ledger newspaper reported that one deputy was shot in the head and was airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center for treatment.
The condition of the deputies was not immediately clearly.
WLBT-TV reported a heavy law enforcement presence was seen on Highway 16 in Canton near the intersection with Highway 43.
Details of the shooting were not immediately clear.
