A Gulf Coast paramedic has been arrested on new charges after being accused of sexually assaulting patients in the back of his ambulance.

The Sun Herald of Biloxi reported this week that 55-year-old James Lavelle Walley has been indicted on two felony sexual battery counts.

Six women sued Walley and the ASAP EMS Corp. for gross negligence and other claims this spring after he was arrested in October over one of the allegations.

One lawsuit says a woman miscarried hours after Walley raped her.

Now he’s been charged with sexually assaulting two of the women last year, including one woman he allegedly attacked twice as he worked for the ambulance company, which provides services in Alabama and Mississippi.

Walley has posted bail and is out of custody.
