Steward remains in the Warren County Jail in lieu of $750,000 bond.

Shortly after Paul Allen Steward’s arrest Sgt. Curtis Judge said Vicksburg police had been questioning Steward since his wife’s disappearance, along with others in the case, but Steward was the only one being charged.

According to Judge, family and friends said the couple had been having marital issues and Steward confessed to investigators, leading them to where her body was located on property Steward’s family owns.

Warren County Deputy Coroner Kelda Bailess declared the mother of two dead at the scene.
