One dead after pipeline explosion rocks Mississippi town

One person was killed after an explosion occurred Friday morning in southeastern Mississippi
Emergency responders were still on the scene late Friday morning after being called to aid just after 8 a.m. when the explosion occurred in Wayne County due east of Laurel, Mississippi, along the state’s border with Alabama.
The Wayne County News newspaper reported that residents reported hearing a rumbling noise, then an explosion that shook their houses.
Black smoke could be seen billowing into the sky from approximately 5 miles away from the scene, the newspaper reported.
Exactly what may have caused the explosion to occur or what substance ignited was not immediately known.
