After a longtime Mississippi educator was stabbed 50 times, his killer is headed to prison

The Sun Herald reports 26-year-old Lee Andrew Gipson, of Moss Point, pleaded guilty Tuesday to capital murder for the 2016 robbery and stabbing death of 64-year-old Willie Clarence Williams, also of Moss Point.

Gipson said he went to Williams’ home and got into an argument with him over a “rumored relationship.”

He says a fight followed, during which he killed Williams. Afterward, he says he stole some of Williams’ belongings and left.

According to the indictment, the crime occurred between Aug. 17 and Aug. 19, 2016.

After the plea, Judge Robert Krebs sentenced Gipson to life in prison without parole.
