A Mississippi man has been sentenced to 60 years in prison after he was found guilty of shooting at law enforcement officers in May 2018.

The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal reports Tishomingo County jurors convicted 46-year-old Brian Turner on Thursday of two counts of aggravated assault on an officer, felony fleeing and possession of a weapon by a felon.

Tishomingo County Circuit Judge Kelly Mims sentenced Turner on Monday, telling him no officer deserves to be shot at.

Testimony showed Turner fired about 30 rounds at a Tishomingo County deputy and a Belmont police officer who pursued him after Turner fled a traffic stop. Turner was caught the next day in Wayne County, Tennessee.

Turner was sentenced as a habitual offender, making him ineligible for early release or parole.
