The Mississippi Gulf Coast law enforcement community is mourning the loss of one of their own after an off-duty motorcycle accident claimed the life of a long-time Harrison County Sheriff’s deputy.
Deputy Glenn Everett Roe was killed Saturday morning while he and his wife were riding their motorcycles in Ocean Springs.
Reportedly a trucked turned in front of them and the Roes collided with the truck.
Glenn Roe was taken to the hospital where he died a short time later. His wife, Melanie Roe, was also injured with non-life threatening injuries.
“Words can not properly express the depth of our grief tonight,” a Harrison County Sheriff’s Office spokesman wrote on social media. “Our family has lost a much-loved member in a tragic accident. Sgt. Glenn Roe was an outstanding Officer, a role model to many and a great friend. Please pray for the Roe family for comfort and peace and an especially speedy recovery for his wife, Melanie.
Deputy Roe was a sergeant who reportedly had worked for the sheriff’s office for more than 25 years.
