A Mississippi father and son were arrested last week after police say they forced their way into a Slidell, Louisiana, area resident and severely beat a man with a metal pipe.
St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies report the arrest of Amos Trehern, 45, and Kody Trehern, 20, both of Long Beach, Mississippi. The two were arrested in Long Beach Friday night. Each is awaiting extradition back to Louisiana where they will face aggravated burglary and attempted first-degree murder charges.
The beating occurred, deputies reported, some time before they were called to the scene just after 9 p.m. on October 2.
Deputies report the pair forced their way into a home, forced the homeowner at knifepoint to lead them to another man who was hiding in a shed in the backyard.
There they beat the victim with a metal pipe, striking him multiple times in the head and body before they fled the scene.
The homeowner reportedly refused medical treatment, but the man who was severely beaten was taken to a local hospital where he was still being treated Monday.
Deputies report the investigation is ongoing.
