Five 13-year-olds have been accused of threatening a shooting at their middle school in Ocean Springs.
Jackson County Sheriff Mike Ezell tells reporters that the five boys are accused of making verbal and online threats to shoot up St. Martin Middle School in Ocean Springs.
One boy was arrested during a homecoming dance Saturday, and two more were arrested Tuesday.
The latest two were arrested at school Thursday.
Superintendent Barry Amacker tells the Sun Herald of Biloxi that the district will have extra security at a high school football game on Friday.
He says the district has school resource officers, but also budgeted to expand security this year by hiring private security.
He says the outsourced security would be hired in the next few days.
