Police are investigating the apparent drowning of an 8-month-old girl in Jackson.

Jackson Police report they the incident occurred Wednesday afternoon at a residence on Broadmoor Drive.

The victim reportedly was briefly left unattended in a small tub. Police believe the baby’s drowning was accidental and said no charges were pending.

The child was transported by a family member to a local hospital.
